![]() ![]() ![]() Tests were (a) the 10 day whole-sediment amphipod survival test using juvenile Grandidiella japonica (ESA, 2009a based on Hyne et al., 2005 and Simpson et al., 2005) using 40 g wet weight (WW) sediment per test vial (b) the sediment-water interface test: 72-h mussel larval development test using embryonic Mytilus edulis planulatus (ESA, 2009bbased on APHA, 2017and USEPA, 1996 with test solution prepared according to USEPA (1995), where 18 g WW sediment was added to test vials with 900-mL 0.45-µm filtered seawater, shaken vigorously for 10 s and allowed to settle for 4 h prior to addition of test organisms (c) the sediment elutriate test: the 48-h copepod survival test using adult Gladioferans imparipes (ESA, 2017 based on Rose et al., 2006) USEPA (1991) and as per the copepod test described previously. ![]() ![]() The toxicity test suite comprised test organisms across 4 taxonomic groups and different trophic levels and adopted various exposure routes and life stages to capture a variety of sensitivities. ![]()
